Who
we are
Founded by a local food loving couple Cory & Jacqueline, whom were deeply dissatisfied with the typical array of limp lifeless and imported produce available on the shelves locally. Already located in Canada’s most favourable growing climate, they broke ground in 2022 to help directly counter act that. “We asked if the way we produce and acquire our food is not good for our soil, water, air or community, whats good about that?”. From the literal soil up Testbed Farm adapted, adopted and developed human scale regenerative agricultural systems, that provide exceptional produce without many of the symptoms of traditional agriculture. They began producing food without sacrificing the environment, their farmers or their community immediately. Since then the resulting food, methodologies and systems, proudly extend well beyond their initial 1/2 acre footprint in North Saanich BC.
How we are different

We focus on adapting lesser known heirloom varieties of fruit and vegetables that have culturally been kept for hundreds sometimes thousands of years in similar climates around the world for their taste, ease of cultivation and other unique traits. We only use NON GMO, locally adapted, organic and or open pollinated heirloom seed. We only sell direct to our customers through our CSA, at select local market venues and through Grow to Order contracts, to provide the freshest produce with the smallest carbon footprint possible. In less words we are heavily invested in a future worth being proud of, full of guilt free, delicious, nutrient dense and hyper local produce!

We strictly employ hardened regenerative practices and lab quantify the results through regular base biota testing which identifies, measures and tracks the microorganisms in living in our soil. We operate a biologically driven semi closed nutrient loop (we rely on soil borne microorganism populations that we have been purposely fostering in our soil since 2022) as our primary nutrient source. Farming within this frame work requires added care, effort, time and resources however the results are measurable improvements to the biodiversity above and below the soil line, season after season by growing the way we do.

We only employ permanent raised beds and proactive techniques that prioritize our soil health since 2022. We are people powered and biologically driven and as such remain focused on building our soil through natural processes, not relying on the mechanical processes that disrupt them. We are and have been completely pesticide, herbicide and fungicide free since day 1 with this in mind. Treating all of the land under our care as a living component of a larger ecosystem allows us to operate with the utmost care for our community’s future from the farm outward.
